Coronavirus: Putin announced the stabilization of the coronavirus situation in Russia


In Russia, the situation with coronavirus stabilized, in some regions, including Moscow, began to gradually reduce the number of detected cases of the disease. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting on the sanitary-epidemiological situation, a transcript of the meeting was published on the Kremlin's website.

"The situation in the country as a whole is stabilizing," Putin said, noting that such conclusions can be drawn from expert assessments and incoming objective information.

The President pointed out that there is a fact of a reduction in the number of new cases of coronavirus infection found in the capital and some other regions of Russia. "So far, this positive dynamic is not as fast as we would like, sometimes even unstable, but it still exists," the head of state said.

Putin said a week ago the growth rate for new cases of the disease in Russia was 5.9%. Now, according to him, growth has dropped to 3.5%. Putin reminded that the number of infections detected in one day is decreasing, while the number of coronavirus tests is growing. The President said that about 240,000 studies on COVID-19 are currently being conducted daily.
