There were small price movements on leading Asian exchanges during Thursday’s trading.
Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 index and the broader Topix index rose 0.2 percent. The Hong Kong stock exchange’s Hang Seng index had risen 0.3 percent in the closing trade, which was also the position on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
The Seoul stock exchange’s Kospi index closed at a decline of 0.4 percent, driven by unexpectedly weak quarterly reports from listed companies.
Expectations of a soft monetary policy message from the European Central Bank during the day and the US Federal Reserve next week contributed to the overall positive development.
Advantest, which manufactures microchip testing equipment, rushed just over 20 percent after a strong quarterly report in Tokyo.
